Project goal
The goal of this project was to create a compelling series of book covers for The Red Files detective stories — evoking classic noir mystery, suspense, and danger while capturing the tense, shadowy atmosphere of hardboiled crime fiction.
Design decisions
The design uses a strict black-and-red color palette to build a mysterious, ominous, and slightly threatening mood — red for blood, danger, and drama, black for shadows and secrecy.
Minimalist silhouette compositions of detectives, crime scenes, and symbolic objects create strong visual impact and timeless intrigue.
Abstract shapes add a subtle, geometric sophistication reminiscent of classic detective fiction aesthetics, while keeping the overall style clean, dramatic, and instantly recognizable across the series.
